Catherine Herba, Ph.D.

Catherine Herba is a researcher at the CHU Sainte-Justine Azrieli Research Centre and a professor in the department of psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). She also holds a UQÀM Strategic Chair in Perinatal Mental Health and Family Well-Being. Her research program uses longitudinal and experimental studies to examine children’s emotional development. Her research covers various aspects of emotional development, including facial expression recognition and emotional and behavioural difficulties. Dr. Herba is particularly interested in the influence of early life factors (maternal mental health, brain development) and their influence on the emotional development of children and adolescents.
